USA Health Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-
Eligible Critical Care Intensivist to join a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) supporting a rapidly expanding cardiothoracic and vascular surgery program. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a physician-led ICU with close collaboration alongside cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons.
The CVICU Intensivist will serve as the primary critical care physician for postoperative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients, including those requiring ECMO and other forms of mechanical circulatory and respiratory support. The clinical practice encompasses the management of complex, high-acuity patients following CABG, valve and aortic surgery, major thoracic procedures, and advanced open and endovascular vascular surgeries. The intensivist will play a key role in the care of patients with cardiogenic shock, severe respiratory failure, and multiorgan dysfunction.
Qualified candidates should have demonstrated experience in high-acuity surgical or cardiovascular critical care settings, with specific expertise in ECMO management. Candidates from a variety of critical care backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including Anesthesia–
Critical Care, Pulmonary–Critical Care, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency Medicine– Critical Care. Experience with advanced ventilator management, hemodynamic support, invasive monitoring, bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy, chest tube management, CRRT, and bedside TEE interpretation is preferred.
