We have a magnificent opportunity for an associate OD! Join our rapidly growing full-scope, three doctor, private practice in the beautiful, historic college town of Williamsburg, Virginia. Practice to the fullest extent of your licensure and enjoy the broad scope of prescribing privileges that Virginia has to offer. Virginia optometrists now also enjoy the privilege of being the seventh state in the nation to have a Laser law and privileges for performing (SLT, YAG capsulotomy and PI), as well as intralesional injections, full medical glaucoma privileges, and all oral medications including steroids.
We are searching for a career-minded, well-trained, enthusiastic and dedicated team player with a long-term view. Our practice offers a very competitive base salary (commensurate with experience), and an automatic productivity-based bonus package (total compensation package $165K-$200K), CE stipend, health and dental insurance, vacation pay, malpractice insurance, 401K with matching, life insurance, long term disability, and paid license and renewal fees. A partnership track is available to candidates who dedicate themselves to the growth and success of the practice.
The practice is based on a medical model and sees a large volume of patients daily. The environment is fast paced, so you must be efficient in your practice style. We see a wide array of patients of all ages ranging from the medically complex to primary care and specialty contact lens fits. Doctors are assisted by a well-trained staff of certified technicians and scribes, managed by a highly experienced Clinical Manager, to help you care for patients in an efficient manner allowing the doctor to focus on the patient care. We are a fully electronic/paperless practice with an EMR system that is ideal for the documentation of medical ophthalmic care.
The practice has invested heavily in the latest modern technology and instrumentation, providing our patient's state-of-the-art care in a clean and modern environment. We pride ourselves on offering the access, technology, and expertise of a large institution with the obejectivity and personal service of the private practitioner. The practice has a great reputation in the region of being the "problem solving practice", we see second and third opinions and referrals from other OD's and MD practices. We currently have 7 fully equipped exam rooms ( all new ) for three doctors. The practice has state-of-the-art equipment including Tango Neo Laser (YAG/SLT), TriLift by Lumenis, BlephexÒ treatment, Lipiview and LipiflowÒ, OptiLight/IPLÒ therapy for dry eye and aesthetics treatments, OCT with angioplex, Ocular Response Analyzer (ORA) Corneal Hysteresis/ NCT/IOP, Zeis rebound tonometry, pachymetry, corneal topography, Zeiss/Humphrey VF, Virtual VF capability (Carrot), digital wide-field fundus photography (Zeiss/ Clarus 500) , specular endothelial photography, RightEye laser eye tracker, visual assessment system with home vision therapy programs, 2 anterior segment photography systems, automated and manual phoropters, , and IOL Master 500 for cataract surgery axial length/ IOL calculations. We also have a fully equipped low vision suite for those that have the desire or training for this specialty. The new associate doctor will see a good mix of medical, emergency and primary care patients. Here you can make your practice what you would like it to be only limited by your own desire to learn, training and interests. The opportunity exists to incorporate your own areas of expertise into the practice, whether your strengths are in ocular disease management, specialty contact lenses, low vision, or primary care.
Residency training is looked upon favorably but is not mandatory. (Cornea/contact lenses and ocular disease/surgical training), Low Vision and or pediatrics preferred. Comfort and experience with complex contact lenses, RGP’s, bi-Torics, and scleral fits is a plus but we are willing to train.
